Day 1 – Colonia del Sacramento
Arrival to “Colonia Del Sacramento” and transfer to your hotel.
At the scheduled time, meet with your Tour Guide for walking city tour along the cobbled streets of the old town of “Colonia Del Sacramento”. Visit the Spanish and Portuguese Museums and the most important tourist spots of this Old Portuguese City form the XVII century that has been declared Patrimony of Mankind by the UNESCO. Finish your day with a traditional “Mate” tasting and discover the cultural aspects of this typical infusion so widely drank locally.

DAY 2 – Calera de los Huerfanos, Jesuit ruins, winery
After breakfast, transfer towards the area of Carmelo. The tour starts with the visit of “La Calera de las Huérfanas” Jesuit Ruins where the Uruguayan history of wine begins and where we can still see the Zubizarreta vineyards in the same location where the first vines were planted (visit to Bodega Zubizarreta not included in tour). Continue to one of the oldest vineyards in Uruguay, Almacen de la Capilla – Bodega Cordano. Enjoy a selection of their different varietals and tour of the property before we continue onto our friend Bernardo’s boutique winery, El Legado. Taste the flavors of a typical Uruguayan asado, sampling various meats and other savory dishes.
We will then continue towards Finca Narbona Wine Lodge where guests will enjoy dinner and spend the night.

Day 3 – Carmelo – wine tateting
Morning at leisure. Enjoy your breakfast and a lovely walking in a unique environment.
Picnic lunch in the vineyards and late afternoon wine and cheese pairing tasting in the cellar guided by the winemaker of Finca Narbona (includes three different Narbona wines and seven choices of cheese).
In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing tour through the islands of the Delta, where the waters of Río de la Plata and Rio Uruguay meet; this spot is considered to be “kilometer 0” of both rivers. The experience begins just before sunset at the secluded marina of Club del Faro. Board a classic boat guided by our captain. Discover the legends of the Uruguayan coasts and its shipwrecks before we toast to an amazing sunset.

Day 4 – City tour of Montevideo
After breakfast, transfer to the Capital City of Montevideo. On arrival, enjoy a walking tour of the Old city. The tour begins at the Independence Square where the statue of our national hero “Jose Gervasio Artigas”, guards his mausoleum next to the iconic “Palacio Salvo”. Montevideo used to be surrounded by a wall to protect the first settlers of the capital. We will cross the Gate of the Old city and walk along the pedestrian area towards the Torres Garcia Art Museum, one of the most renowned art schools in Uruguay. Continue onto the Solis Theatre for a visit before visiting the Constitution Sq., the Cathedral and Cabildo. The tour continues to the Museum of Pre-Columbian Art (www.mapi.uy) before arriving to the lively port market. Our last visit will be the Carnival Museum to discover the Spanish tradition and African roots of our carnival and learn about the “murgas” & “candombe”.
If you are in Uruguay during Carnival season (late February or early March) you could even participate in one of the “tablados”, “candombe rehearsals” or “Llamadas Parade”!.
Enjoy lunch at the lively port market.
In the afternoon, transfer to Plaza Independencia and begin the tour. Enjoy a tour of the different neighborhoods of Montevideo which started developing after the demolition of the Old City Walls of Montevideo which took place on September 1829. Unlike the old city, La Ciudad Nueva (the new city), was planned with wide and tree lined streets, with magnificent stores and residence. From the Plaza Independencia we can admire the surrounding buildings of different heights and styles, which clearly define it as a city facing the future. The main avenue 18 de Julio, sarts here. A few blocks away, we will visit the Plaza Fabini or “Plaza del Entrevero”, with a magnificent sculpture of a horse battle between the first Spanish settlers and the native inhabitants, masterpiece of the Uruguayan artist José Belloni. From this spot we have a clear view of the Palacio Legislativo (Congress) a multicoloured marble building, one of the most sumptuous of Latin America. We will visit the Montevideo City Hall Observation Deck and will then continue onto the “Ciudad Abierta” (the open city), the area of Montevideo which gradually grew into an open city of green parks, famous monuments and residential areas. We will see the famous “Estadio Centenario” (Sports centre – entrance not included), Monumento a la Carreta and the residential area of Carrasco and Punta Gorda. It depends on the season and the visit day, you can also will visit the: “Museo del Guacho” and “Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo” Museum or Visual Arts National Museum. Transfer back to your Hotel.

Day 5 – Olive Plantations and vineyard
After breakfast, pick up at your and transfer towards Lote 8 Olive Oil Boutique Plant located in the area of pueblo Eden. Enjoy a visit to the production facilities followed by a tasting of their olive oil. Visit the charming Pueblo Eden located on the panoramic Route 12 and surrounded by hectares of olive trees and vineyards, making this region known as the “Uruguayan Tuscany”. Visit Viña Eden Winery and enjoy a tasting of the Eden Wines including a Chardonnay, a typical Tannat Reserva and the Cerro Negro wine. An exceptional place where wines combine the climate of the hills and freshness of the Atlantic ocean.Transfer to Estancia Charabon.

DAY 6 Cabo Polonio – Rocha
After breakfast, meet your local guide who will guide you to the small village of Barra de Valizas. Enjoy a barefoot trek along the coastline and the incredible shifting sand dunes. Climb the “Buena Vista Hill” and appreciate the gorgeous view of the ocean before continuing to Cabo Polonio (3 hours trek). After a delicious lunch at a local seaside restaurant, visit the light house and sea lions reserve (one of the biggest ones in South America!). Afternoon 4×4 truck-drive to the main entrance of Cabo Polonio.
Transfer back to the Estancia.

Day 7 – Visit Bodega Garzon – Jose Ignacio
After breakfast, pick up and guided transfer tour to Bodega Garzon. For those who enjoy the taste of new experiences, spectacular views, top quality wines and gastronomy, this will be a wonderful visit. Enjoy a visit with lunch overlooking the vineyards. Visit the town of Pueblo Garzón where time seems to have stood still for some decades. Watch the villagers peacefully drinking mate without the hurries of modern life while the neighbor next door feeds her horse and the local grocery store sells gas in canisters. Continue onto the small town of Jose Ignacio.

Day 8 -Punta del Este
Panoramic tour of Punta del Este with visit to the lively La Barra where we will cross the famous undulated bridge just before arriving to the Brava Beach of Punta del Este. Visit the most important attractions: “Juan Gorlero Avenue”, the yacht’s port, the residential areas and the lovely Casapueblo, a strange and attractive construction designed by the renowned Uruguayan artist Carlos Páez Vilaró where we will visit his museum. On the way back to José Ignacio visit the Atchugarry Foundation of the Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry located in Manantiales.
Evening cooking class at the home of a local chef. We have designed a special cooking class to expose you to the best that the local products have to offer. You will spend a lovely day with “hands on” instruction by one of our professional local chefs so that you take not only your memories home, but also some great recipes and techniques to add to your own collection.

Day 9 -Montevido
